Terms of service

These terms apply between Brillrec Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria (RC 9904969), 10, Dr Olumide Close, Ajah, Lagos, Nigeria ("we"), and the organisation that creates a Brillrec account ("you"). A separate signed agreement, if you have one, takes priority over them.

The service

Brillrec compares your financial records (ledgers, bank statements, payment processor reports and similar), matches them, suggests matches with AI, and records how every difference was explained, approved and signed off. AI review is on for new organisations, in masked mode (long numbers, email addresses and dates replaced before anything is sent), using our AI provider as described in the privacy notice; accepting these terms is your organisation's agreement to that, and an admin can switch it off at any time. We improve the service regularly, so features may change.

Your responsibilities

• Only upload or connect records you're entitled to use, and keep your organisation's list of users up to date.
• Keep sign-in details private. We strongly recommend two-factor sign-in, which your admins can require for everyone. You're responsible for what's done under your users' accounts.
• Review the results. Brillrec helps your finance team; it doesn't replace their judgement, your auditors or your accounting system, and AI suggestions are only suggestions until a person confirms them (or your admin switches on automatic confirmation, which is recorded in the audit trail).
• Don't try to break, overload, copy or get around the security of the service.

Your data

Your records stay yours. We process them only to provide the service, as described in the privacy notice. You can download everything at any time, and an admin can delete the organisation, which permanently deletes its data after a 30-day grace period.

Availability and support

We take daily backups and aim to keep the service running, but don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Contact info@brillrec.com for help.

Free trial

A new organisation may use the service free for 14 days, without giving payment details. When the trial ends, people can still sign in but only to choose and pay for a plan. If no plan is chosen within 30 days of the end of the trial, the organisation and its data are permanently deleted. We may extend a trial at our discretion.

Plans and fees

After the trial, use of the service requires a paid plan. The plans, their allowances and their prices are shown in the app (Settings > Billing) or in a written quotation. Fees are in naira, payable in advance for the billing period chosen (monthly, quarterly, six-monthly or annually), and VAT is added at the applicable rate. Plans paid online renew automatically at the end of each period on the same payment method until an admin stops the renewal; stopping takes effect at the end of the period already paid. Unless the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are not refunded for part of a period. If a renewal payment fails, access continues for 3 days after the paid period and then becomes limited to Billing until payment is made. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; a change applies from your next billing period. Allowances (bank accounts, AI review items and records processed) are those of your plan; if your use regularly exceeds them, we may ask you to move to a larger plan.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made from reconciliation results that weren't reviewed, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim (or ₦100,000 during a free trial). Nothing limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Ending

You can stop using the service and delete your organisation at any time. We may suspend access for misuse or non-payment, telling you why, and will give 30 days' notice if we stop providing the service, so you can download your data.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
